Bina Marga to Build New Skatepark Under Pasar Rebo Flyover

This year, Jakarta Bina Marga Department utilizes area as wide as 1,000 square meters under Pasar Rebo Flyover, East Jakarta to build skatepark. The skatepark will be used to hold skateboard competition on an international scale.

This skatepark is built not only to facilitate skateboarders but also as urban public space

Bina Marga Department Head, Hari Nugroho explained, this skatepark will be equipped with bench, reading park, and toilets.

"This skatepark is built not only to facilitate skateboarders but also as urban public space. This new facility is potential be the new icon in East Jakarta," he asserted, Friday (8/9).

According to him, skatepark construction has been included in Pasar Rebo Intersection sidewalk arrangement and maintenance contract. Thus his side targets this facility to be ready for inauguration in December.

This skatepark facility will add number of skatepark in East Jakarta such as in Kalijodo Children-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA), Spot Budaya 2 Dukuh Atas, and under Slipi Flyover.

"We hope this sport facility can encourage young people to become skateboard athletes," he expressed.
